In a recent e-mail, President Ginny Prior wrote:

BATW will be accepting the first round of applications for credentialing May 1-31. Credentialing is optional, but members with credentials will be recognized, as such, in our search engine, which may result in fam trip and other invitations from Associate members.

  1. First, update your profile for 2013 (if you haven’t already) in batw.org. You must meet BATW’s publication requirements in order to be credentialed. See guidelines: http://www.batw.org/members-only/join-as-an-active-or-provisional-member/
  2. Then, open a Word document and cut and paste ONLY your name, a description of your outlets, and the active links to your work for 2012. If you do not have active links that go directly to your work, you MUST provide proof of publication or media (i.e. scan articles and/or photos, provide screen shots, Google analytics or attach audio/video files to your email).
  3. Email to membership@batw.org. Review process can take up to eight weeks but will probably be sooner. If approved, you’ll receive an email with further instructions. Accreditation is good for two years. After that, a member must re-apply to remain a credentialed member.

NOTE: Please make sure you’ve provided active links and/or any information required for membership (detailed under guidelines: http://www.batw.org/members-only/join-as-an-active-or-provisional-member/

For more information and FAQ on membership guidelines and credentialing, see the April President’s Message: http://www.batw.org/news/from-board/presidents-column-april-2013/
